Everything you need before you travel
About Cuba
Cuba is located in the Caribbean Sea, near the coasts of Mexico and the United States. The largest of the Antilles has a moderate subtropical climate, with a dry season from November to April and a humid season from May to October. It is a very safe travel destination with a network of accommodations throughout the island.
For patients
Patients arrive with the medical program sent by our Coordination and Processing Center. Programs under 30 days enter with a Tourist Card; if treatment exceeds 60 days, a medical visa is required. Hospitalized patients stay in clinics or medical centers; outpatient patients are offered accommodation in the hotel of their choice, plus airport transfer services.
For students
Undergraduate and postgraduate students must present documents duly legalized by Cuban diplomatic representations abroad — degrees, transcripts, health certificate, criminal record, birth certificate, admission confirmation and Cuban health insurance.
Electronic visa (e-Visa) — faster and less bureaucratic
We provide full support for Cuba's electronic visa, so you can apply online without visiting a consulate — quicker turnaround and minimal paperwork. Our team guides you through the digital application step by step.

Tourist Card (Tarjeta de Turista)
Stays up to 30 days
For medical programs shorter than 30 days. Sold by Cuban consulates, authorised travel agencies and many airlines. Allows a single entry and a 30-day stay, extendable once in Cuba.
Medical Visa (Visa Médica)
Stays over 60 days
Required when treatment exceeds 60 days. Issued by a Cuban consulate or embassy upon presentation of the medical program and invitation letter from SMC Salud.
Programs of 30–60 days
Coordinated case-by-case
For treatments between 30 and 60 days, our Coordination Centre advises whether a Tourist Card extension is sufficient or a Medical Visa is needed, based on your specific program.
Cuban health insurance via ASISTUR
Cuban health insurance must be purchased from ASISTUR — before travel or within one week of arrival in Cuba. If you already have insurance, ASISTUR will determine whether it is valid and compatible with their offered policies. The price is set by age, sex and medical conditions.

How to pay
Payments are made by bank transfer from abroad or through our online payment gateway (Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, American Express, ServiRed and Visa Electron). Cash payments are not accepted. Although prices are set in US Dollars, transfers cannot be made in USD or from US-capital banks — transfers must be made in Euros, Sterling or Canadian Dollars.
