Center of Molecular Immunology
Cuba's flagship biotechnology institute for cancer immunotherapy — home of the pioneering CIMAvax-EGF and Vaxira therapeutic vaccines.
A Center of Healing & Excellence
The Center of Molecular Immunology (CIM) is one of the world's leading biotechnology research and production institutes in the field of cancer immunotherapy. Founded in 1994 within Cuba's Scientific Pole, CIM develops, manufactures, and clinically administers therapeutic cancer vaccines and monoclonal antibodies. Its pioneering work on EGF-targeting immunotherapy has placed Cuba at the forefront of non-small cell lung cancer treatment, and its products are registered and under trial in multiple countries. International patients access CIM's therapies through coordinated programs with SMC Salud, receiving treatment under expert oncology supervision with full supportive care.

Pioneering innovations developed & delivered here
This center is home to some of Cuba's most distinctive biotechnology and clinical innovations — advanced therapies available to international patients through coordinated programs.
CIMAvax-EGF
Therapeutic vaccine targeting the EGF pathway for advanced non-small cell lung cancer. Administered as maintenance therapy, it induces anti-EGF antibodies that starve tumor cells of growth signals and extend survival.
Vaxira (Racotumomab)
An anti-idiotype vaccine targeting NeuGcGM3 ganglioside expressed on tumor cells, used for advanced non-small cell lung cancer and under study for other solid tumors.
CIMAher (Nimotuzumab)
A humanized monoclonal antibody against the EGFR receptor, used in combination therapy for head and neck, brain, and other epithelial cancers with a favorable safety profile.
Monoclonal Antibody Platform
A mature platform for developing, scaling, and clinically deploying therapeutic and diagnostic monoclonal antibodies, supporting both oncology and other indications.
EGF-Targeting Immunotherapy
A unique Cuban approach that redirects the immune system against growth-factor signaling rather than the tumor directly, enabling durable, low-toxicity maintenance therapy.
Biosimilar & Biobetter Development
Ongoing programs developing biosimilars and biobetters that expand access to advanced biopharmaceuticals for domestic and international patient populations.
Pioneering treatments, coordinated from one center
This center serves as your single point of coordination for Cuba's full range of specialized medical programs, delivered in partnership with the country's leading research and treatment institutes.
