Melagenin Plus®: Cuba's Placental Histotherapy for Vitiligo

Melagenin Plus® is a topical medication developed at Cuba's Placental Histotherapy Center. It is derived from human placenta and contains a lipoprotein fraction that stimulates melanocyte proliferation and melanin production. The treatment aims to repigment affected skin areas.

Treatment involves daily application of Melagenin Plus® to affected areas, followed by controlled exposure to sunlight or phototherapy. The treatment is painless and non-invasive, making it suitable for patients of all ages and skin types. Treatment cycles typically last several weeks.

Cuba's approach may also include Coriodermina® for related skin conditions and other placental histotherapy products. The dermatology team monitors progress throughout treatment and adjusts the protocol as needed. Best results are typically seen in patients with stable vitiligo affecting limited body areas.
